In future versions, a long-awaited novelty could arrive on WhatsApp: the possibility of using the app on multiple devices using the same phone number. To find out is the specialized site WaBetaInfo in a still not final version of WhatsApp for Android. In short, the number-single device connection would end up in oblivion and WhatsApp would acquire a feature already available in other chat apps such as Telegram, overcoming what today is, given the high average number of personal devices, a limit. But a limit would remain, at least in part: according to what has been identified by WaBetaInfo, the maximum number of devices that can be associated would be four, while for example Telegram does not set stakes.
Already today with the WhatsApp web function it is possible to access your chats from a computer (via web or app) and also from a tablet (using the browser in desktop mode), but it is a procedure subject to frequent “dislocations” and in any case only active if the phone with the number associated with WhatsApp is connected to the internet.
It is not yet known when or even if the functionality will be definitively introduced in the app, but the presence in the code leaves the door open. Especially since it would be the simplest method to make WhatsApp work on iPad, one of the most pressing requests from users to developers, without having to go through the browser but finally using an application.
